HMS Queen Elizabeth is the first of two new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers to be operated by the Royal Navy. Her construction is well underway and she is due to enter service in 2016. Her sister ship HMS Prince of Wales will enter service shortly after. She will be the largest warship ever built for the Royal Navy and the first super-carrier built by the United Kingdom. She will operate state of the art aircraft incluing the F-35 Lightening II and the AW101 Merlin helicopter. She will be a formiddable tool for force projection able to adapt to multiple roles, bringing the Royal Navy into the future of naval technology.
The model's hull is cast from polyurethane resin, while the islands, weapons and elevators are cast in white metal. The flight deck is fully decalled and can be populated by Mountford Models' CVF Air Wing. This is a commission model and is exclusively available from Waterline Ships and their retailers. |
